The Screaming JetsRenowned Aussie rockers The Screaming Jets are continuing to ride the resurgent wave behind them in the wake of their first album in eight years, the well-received Chrome, with the unveiling of new single Cash In Your Ticket and the announcement of a solid run of national tour dates throughout October and November.
Dubbed the 'Go Hard Or Go Chrome' tour, in honour of the album, the impending sojourn gets under way at the Hallam Hotel on Friday 7 October, hitting plenty of less-visited and satellite locales along their route including Geelong, Wagga Wagga, Mulwala, Belmont, Revesby, Kallangur, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Redland Bay, Young, Dubbo, Muswellbrook and the Hunter Valley, where they close out the journey with a spot at Hope Estate's Hope Rocks festival on Saturday 26 November.
The upcoming tour will be preceded by the release of Cash In Your Ticket — the second single, after Automatic Cowboy, to be taken from Chrome, which did massive business for the band on the Australian indie charts and earned a solid review from our man Paul Barbieri — when it hits radio on Monday 29 August and, as with the rest of the album, only adds to the band's existing oeuvre of reliable rock jams.
"We always try to make sure that we represent ourselves as classic Aussie rock," frontman Dave Gleeson said in a statement. "More than showing anybody else, but just to get in there and feel the excitement that we did in the studio. Sometimes things just feel right, sometimes you are in the studio and it is like pulling teeth. Other times you hang out with your mates, laugh and tell stories and record great music. We have come out with something we are totally proud of — something to hold up as the real deal."
Chrome is out now through Dinner For Wolves (Rocket Distribution/InGrooves).
