'Everything Will Change' will be available from November

More The Postal Service More The Postal Service

Blinked-and-you-missed-it one-time darlings of the electro-indie-pop set, The Postal Service, have announced that they will release a commemorative live DVD of their 2013 performance at Berkeley, California's Greek Theatre, during their 10-year anniversary tour for sole album Give Up.

The band made the announcement on their Facebook page early this morning (AEST/AEDT), explaining the DVD — which also features music videos and interviews among the live tour footage — will be titled Everything Will Change (a lyrical reference to their track Brand New Colony) and enjoy a worldwide release on Monday, November 24, via Sub Pop.

The same day, The Postal Service's one and only full-length album — 2003 cult gem Give Up — will be released for the first time as a single vinyl LP, which will be available directly from Sub Pop's online store.

The band rounded out the good news with a link to the documentary's trailer, and it's easy to see — along with Death From Above 1979's Life After Death From Above 1979 and that whole Foo Fighters/HBO thing — it's a damn fine year to be a fan of high-quality band docos.

The Postal Service was the project of Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and electronic whiz Jimmy Tamborello, aka Dntel, with guest work from Rilo Kiley songstress Jenny Lewis. They only released Give Up (and a handful of singles) during their original run before disbanding soon after the album's release; they reunited last year for a tenth-anniversary tour, which was the impetus for the DVD/Blu-ray.

Everything Will Change was directed by Justin Mitchell, who previously worked with Gibbard on producing Death Cab's introspective 2005 tour documentary Drive Well, Sleep Carefully.
