The Orb Team Up With Lee Scratch Perry

Their record is out early September.

Two truly legendary forward-thinking musical entities come together for what seems like it will be a very special record this year as The Orb announce their 13th record The Orbserver will be a full collaboration with reggae's most colourful character, Lee Scratch Perry.

Dr Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann have always had a fairly keen ear for dub and have incorporated it into their music for years now; they have been able to lay down the groundwork before the insanely creative Lee Scratch Perry comes in with his unique and wildly exciting musical approach. It's the first time these two acts have worked together, in fact Fehlmann admitted that his first meeting with Perry was during the recording sessions for the album, but this spontaneity is something you'd imagine both acts would thrive on.

The new record is to be released through Cooking Vinyl/Shock on Friday 7 September. Take a look at the video for the very cool Hold Me Upsetter below.
