Olivia Newton-John's 'Grease' Outfit Has Been Auctioned Off For A Stupid Amount Of Money

Last week saw the launch of a massive auction from Olivia Newton-John, with the much-loved singer auctioning off a stack of memorabilia from throughout her life. 

Among the assets for sale is the iconic leather jacket and pants worn by Newton-John in Grease, which were expected to reach a maximum bid of $292,000 and $87,600 AUD respectively. 

The auction has since closed with the jacket being won for a whopping $355,072 and the pants going for $237,250. 

The auction featured over 500 different items, which also includes several Grammy Award nomination plaques, gold and platinum records, an original artwork by Ken Done, American Music Awards, various costumes, tour itineraries, Grease script for the film signed by both Newton-John and co-star John Travolta, a custom 'Pink Ladies' jacket, various signed posts and more.

Part of the auction's proceeds will go to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre. 

Auction house Julien's has also advised they will be compiling a scrapbook of people with their wins.

"Olivia would love to know where each item ends up," it reads. "She's asking anyone who wins an item in the auction that when they get it home they take a photo of themselves with the item(s) and email along with a personal note..."
