The final countdown.
---------------------
Michael Gudinski has been named the most powerful person in the Australian music industry today with the unveiling of the complete AMID Power 50 list.
The pre-eminent annual ranking of power and influence in the music scene, Gudinski returns to the top spot in 2014 after last taking out the #1 place in 2012.
“It’s a great pride to be number one,” Gudinski says in the current edition of the Australasian Music Industry Directory. “It [holds] great significance, because we’re an independent group which gives me more power to make decisions myself.”
One-time business partner and rival promoter Michael Chugg also appears in the top ten as does triple j’s Richard Kingsmill, while global singer-songwriter star Sia Furler is this year’s highest ranked female in the list.
