They play one show before hitting the Muster.

More The Mavericks More The Mavericks

Tejano rock'n'roll/country masters The Mavericks have confirmed one club show while they are in Australia for the very first time this August, with a single Sydney date set to happen the night before before the band head up to Gympie for the annual Music Muster.

While Raul Malo did make his way to Australia for a solo show a few years back, this is the first time the newly reformed best-selling act have made the lengthy trip down under and there are surely thousands of fans who are excited to finally have the opportunity to see the band in the flesh.

This year they released In Time, showing they've lost none of their ability to bring a great old style of music back into the modern conscience without sounding contrived. It's one of the great comeback records of recent years; here's Back In Your Arms Again, which opens it up.

If the name rings a bell, but you can't put your finger on music the band play then this ought to jog your memory.

The band hit The Hi-Fi on Friday 23 August, tickets are available from Monday morning onwards and we'd recommend getting in quick! The Adam Eckersley Band support.
