The Living EndThe Living End frontman Chris Cheney has a lot to be proud of, with his musical career, and closer to home.
Taking to social media on Friday (22 May), the singer and guitarist revealed that his daughter, Scarlett Lyric Cheney, has released her debut single, Life Is Beautiful. How could music not be in her veins?
“Oh boy, it’s a proud dad day when one of your kids creates something special like this,” Chris Cheney began.
He continued, “My daughter Scarlett Lyric has released her first song and it’s a beauty. With all the division and prejudice and judgement in the world at the moment, sometimes it takes the yunguns to set the example and ask the simple questions.
“Why can’t people see that life is beautiful? Great message and a great song. You’re on your way kid! Congrats Scars!”
Life Is Beautiful is an acoustic-based song that slowly expands to reveal a string arrangement, remaining tender throughout. Scarlett’s voice is stunning, particularly in the chorus, when she asks, “Why can’t people see that life is beautiful?”

In an Instagram post, Scarlett described the journey to release her debut single as “incredible” and thanked her parents and sister, Charlie, for their endless support.
“‘life is beautiful’ is now officially streaming on all platforms,” Scarlett wrote on social media.
She continued, “This was such an incredible journey from the first lyrics written to hearing the song on a streaming platform.
