Brisbane group The Goon Sax have inked a label deal with Matador Records

The trio will join the US' Matador Records internationally while staying with Chapter Records for Australia and New Zealand.

The news comes around 18 months on from the band signing an international publishing deal Matador Records' publishing arm and the UK's Beggars Group, Mattitude which saw them join the roster alongside acts like Kurt Vile, Cat Power, Yo La Tengo, Car Seat Headrest and more.

"It’s hard to speak with the gravity of what this new music and signing means to us," said The Goon Sax' Louis Forster of the signing via a social media post.

"It’s the culmination of what we’ve been working on since 2017 when we recorded we’re not talking, and I think it’s the most proud we’ve been of anything we’ve made together thus far."
