After seven years, Australian alt-metal outfit The Beautiful Monument have announced their long-awaited new album, Euphoric Thriller.

The follow-up to 2019’s I’m The Reaper, Euphoric Thriller features the recently released singles, Dancing with the Buried and Cry About It. Today, the band have released the energetic title track to accompany the album announcement.

Euphoric Thriller arrives on Friday, 7 August, via Greyscale Records – you can pre-order/pre-save the album here. The album is described as an “emotional rollercoaster” packed with diary entries that explore deeply personal experiences, such as grief, identity, survival, and the experience of living in the world as LGBTQIA+ individuals today.

Vocalist Lizi McIntosh explained, “From dealing with the grief of not only physical loss, but the emotional battle that is existing in this world as a minority and navigating our way through the uphill battle of hate and bigotry from the society that surrounds us… but make it a party.”

She added, “If we don’t laugh, we cry - so why not have a good time while internally wallowing in the fiery pits of hell that is the current state of the world.”

Opening up about the title track, which features a sultry edge while examining a person’s relationship with their depression, McIntosh said, “It lulls you into a false sense of security and makes you believe that you are not you without it, but deep down you know you need to run.”

Over the last twelve months, The Beautiful Monument have crafted their long-awaited new album with the help of producer Chris Lalic (Windwaker, HEADWRECK, RinRin).

With Euphoric Thriller, the quartet – Lizi McIntosh, bassist Amy McIntosh, guitarist Alex Manhire and drummer Adam Pinzone – continue their run of exploring multi-faceted human experiences, such as grief, mental health, and everything to do with romantic relationships.

The Beautiful Monument are currently supporting Hellions on their Opera Oblivia tenth-anniversary shows and has previously opened for Evanescence, Escape The Fate, RedHook, Sleeping With Sirens, and Short Stack.

The band has also appeared at festivals such as Good Things, Download, and UNIFY, and later this year, they’ll rock the boat on the inaugural Hellbound Cruise.
