The Beards Add Perth To 2025 Australian Tour

South Australian comedy rockers The Beards are touring the country from August to October, officially adding Perth to their growing itinerary.

Upon announcing their reunion tour in April, The Beards revealed tour dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Due to demand, additional dates were announced for Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide, but, after listening to fan demand, they’ve also added Perth to the list.

Informing fans of the news yesterday (16 May), the band wrote on social media, “Perth: It has come to our attention that you are displeased with not being included on our upcoming tour. We fucked up. We’re sorry.

“Your pro-beard attitude and incessant complaining has prompted us to add your majestic city to our tour. We’ll see you at The Rosemount OCT 3rd to personally apologise for our rare lapse in judgement.”

The Beards discontinued their career as a touring act in 2016, eleven years after their formation. They embarked on a farewell tour in February 2016 and played their final show in October of that year at The Gov in Adelaide. They returned to the stage earlier this year, performing at Bluesfest, which may have been a taste of what fans would see on the forthcoming tour.

Frontman Johann Beardraven (aka Joel McMillan) said of the tour in April, “We felt that after writing sixty-three original songs about beards and becoming the most important beard-related band on the planet, we’d said all we had to say on the subject. We figured it was time for us to take a well-earned break and focus on resting on our laurels.

“But it turns out that over the intervening years, our views on beards have only become more intense, rigid, and dogmatic. Hopefully, a small run of gigs in the four closest capital cities to where we currently reside will be enough for us to finally fully articulate just how much we enjoy having beards.”
