The AvalanchesAustralian electronic music pioneers The Avalanches are back.
After sharing some cryptic teasers about their forthcoming, yet-to-be-announced fourth album, the group has unveiled the highly anticipated new single, Together.
In the visualiser, an anthropomorphic iPod and floppy disk dance around. The clip was directed and animated by the group’s longtime collaborator, Jonathan Zawada. Check out the video below.
The Avalanches have been teasing their fourth album for months. Pitchfork notes that they previously shared an Instagram Story that featured an abundance of hard drives, which they captioned “LP #4.”
Recently, the outfit – now a trio starring Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi and Midnight Juggernauts’ Andy Szekeres – launched a website for a fake website, Takumi, which is referenced in the press release for Together:

In addition to the trio, Together features Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza, and emerging artist Prentiss, who Pitchfork reports is just 18 years old and hails from Jackson, Missouri.
The Avalanches’ most recent album, We Will Always Love You, was released in 2020. It was the follow-up to 2016’s Wildflower, which arrived 16 years after their hugely successful debut album, 2000’s Since I Left You.
For We Will Always Love You, The Avalanches joined forces with big-name collaborators such as Denzel Curry, Tricky, Jamie xx, MGMT and Johnny Marr, Karen O, Rivers Cuomo, and many others.
In 2024, the group once again joined forces with Jamie xx and featured on his In Waves album on the track, All You Children.
With Szekeres officially in the band, The Avalanches are a trio for the first time in a decade.
