Rick Brewster was unexpectedly admitted to hospital this week.
Revered Aussie outfit The Angels have been forced to postpone two shows scheduled for this weekend after lead guitarist, Rick Brewster, was unexpectedly admitted to hospital this week.
A statement from the band says Brewster was admitted with an infection and is receiving IV antibiotics.
"Rick is receiving the best treatment and is hopeful to be released from hospital in the next few days," rhythm guitarist, John Brewster, said.
"He is obviously really upset about having to cancel this weekend's shows, but the most important thing now is that he rests and gets the treatment he needs to recuperate.

"All the band are thinking of Rick and wishing him a speedy recovery."
Gigs in Merimbula on Friday and Goulburn on Saturday will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.
"We have immediately started working on finding alternative dates for the Merimbula and Goulburn shows," Brewster continued.
"We were really looking forward to the 4x4 dates this weekend and don't want those music fans who had bought tickets to miss out.
"We thank everyone for their understanding for the postponement and look forward to finalising new show dates as soon as possible."
The Angels are hopeful that Rick will be released from hospital in time for the final shows of their current tour in Victoria next weekend.
Tickets for the postponed shows will remain valid for the new dates when announced, however refunds can be obtained from point of purchase.
