“One of Rick’s biggest worries while ill has been letting fans down by cancelling shows."
After postponing two NSW shows last week due to lead guitarist Rick Brewster being admitted to hospital, Aussie rocker legends The Angels have confirmed this weekend’s dates will go ahead with a familiar face filling in.
Brewster is currently recovering in hospital after an infection, and although he is expected to be discharged in the next couple of days, doctors have recommended he rests, which sees former Angels member Bob Spencer (Skyhooks) fill-in for two shows in Victoria this weekend.
Rhythm guitarist John Brewster said it was a decision made by Rick.
“One of Rick’s biggest worries while ill has been letting fans down by cancelling shows,” John said.

“We are grateful that Bob is available to help out for these last two shows on the tour."
Last week’s postponed shows in Merimbula and Goulburn will be rescheduled when Rick is better.
“The doctors are really pleased with how Rick is progressing,” John said.
“It will be great when he comes out of the hospital this week, but he will need a week or two of rest – even if he doesn’t want to – to get back on his feet.
“This experience will make playing alongside Rick again all the more special.”
Spencer played with The Angels from ’86 – ’92.
