The Amp Reveals 25 Albums That Just Missed Out

The Coopers Amp has revealed a list of 25 'highly regarded' albums that have missed out on the $30,000 album prize's longlist today, while also announcing that the shortlist will be announced at a live event on Australia Day with last year's prize winners Hermitude performing.

To be held at Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl Sunday 26 January, the shortlist of nine acts for this year's main prize will be announced as part of the free event, dubbed Shortlisted! which is set to run from 6pm-8pm.

Other live performances will be announced in the coming weeks.

With one more announcement of albums for the prestigious award's longlist to be made next week, the judges have – for the first time – revealed a list of 'Highly Regarded' albums which won't appear next week. The list appears some highly profile names, including Bliss N Eso, Emma Louise, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, RÜFÜSand Snakadaktal.
