The Amity Affliction's New Track 'Bleed' Is A 'F*** You To People Online' & Unrealistic Expectations

“‘I bleed the way I bleed…’ is my way of saying that I am the way I am, not the way I am perceived to be by people who don’t actually know me,” Joel Birch explained.

Aussie heavy hitters The Amity Affliction continue the rollout of their forthcoming album, House Of Cards, and have a message for people online who think they know vocalist Joel Birch personally.

Today, the band have unveiled a new single, Bleed, to coincide with their ongoing, extensive tour across regional Australia with In Hearts Wake and RedHook. The industrial-inspired, ferocious cut follows the album’s title track, which was filled with emotional weight and in-depth storytelling.

On the other hand, Bleed allows Birch to examine public personas and expectations while detailing his reality.

“This song is a bit of a fuck you to people online who leave comments like they know me personally, or know anything about what’s happening in my life, and a bit of a reminder to myself that I am not beholden to that idea, and I am the person I know myself to be,” Birch explained in a statement.

He added, “‘I bleed the way I bleed…’ is my way of saying that I am the way I am, not the way I am perceived to be by people who don’t actually know me and have formed or projected an idea of me onto me by way of social media.”

You can watch the Bleed music video below.

House Of Cards is scheduled for release via Pure Noise Records on Friday, 24 April. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.

The album acknowledges trauma and seeks to examine it through a new perspective on life and human relationships. It marks the band’s first to feature bassist and singer Jonny Reeves.

In addition to their 2026 touring plans, The Amity Affliction were recently announced as one of the top-billed acts on the second voyage of the Hellbound metal cruise, taking place in January 2027. They’ll perform alongside their peers, Parkway Drive, I Killed The Prom Queen, Alpha Wolf, Thy Art Is Murder, and many others.

House Of Cards arrives after The Amity Affliction have already earned five ARIA #1 albums, over one billion streams, and amassed sold-out tours in domestic and international markets.
