Two years into their relationship, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have announced their engagement.
Announcing the news on social media, the couple wrote in a joint post on Tuesday (26 August): “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Congratulations to the happy pair!
You can see the images accompanying the engagement announcement below.
The news of Swift’s engagement is thrilling fans, who have watched the singer-songwriter date and write songs about previous partners, including Joe Alwyn, Matty Healy, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, and others.
The high-profile pair – of course, Taylor Swift is one of the biggest names in music, while Travis Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs – started dating in July 2023 while Swift was in the midst of her epic Eras Tour.
In September 2023, the pair went public with their relationship, with Swift appearing at Arrowhead Stadium to watch Kelce and the Chiefs play against the Chicago Bears.

Last year, the couple made headlines when they kissed on the field after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl – Kelce scoring his third Super Bowl win – against the San Francisco team, the 49ers.
Following the win and still on tour, Swift adjusted the lyrics to her hit song, Karma, to reference Kelce. She sang, “Karma is the guy in the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.”
Earlier this month, Swift announced the title of her forthcoming album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on the New Heights podcast – hosted by Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce.
Teasing her appearance on the podcast, the New Heights podcast shared a snippet in which Swift picks up a briefcase and takes out a vinyl with blurred album artwork. Swift has since unveiled multiple editions of the album with different artwork.
She stated, “This is my brand-new album, The Life Of A Showgirl.” That episode of the podcast has gone on to break the Guinness World Record for the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube, per an announcement shared this week.
