Taylor Swift has been counting down to something since Monday, and fans can finally get excited as her next era is about to begin. She’s just revealed the name of her hotly anticipated 12th album.
The Love Story singer is set to appear on her partner Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, on Wednesday (13 August). Teasing her appearance on the podcast, the New Heights podcast shared a snippet in which Swift picks up a briefcase and takes out a vinyl with blurred album artwork.
She stated, “This is my brand-new album, The Life Of A Showgirl,” to screams from Travis Kelce’s brother and co-host, Jason.

The fun began on Monday, The Guardian reports, when a countdown to 12:12 am Eastern Time for today (12 August) appeared on Swift’s website, then brightly coloured in orange.
The Taylor Nation fan account on Instagram, run by the singer’s marketing team, recently teased the new orange theme and captioned a post reminiscing on her Eras Tour, “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’”

At 12:12 am, her website crashed for a short time before being revived with scarce information about her forthcoming album. At the time of publication, The Life Of A Showgirl is available to pre-order on Swift’s website.
However, no release date has been announced, despite her website stating that shipping will begin after 13 October. Her website features the following notice: “**THIS IS NOT THE RELEASE DATE, OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED**.”
This isn’t the first time that Taylor Swift has surprise announced an album. She made the official announcement about her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, in her acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. She later revealed its tracklist, featuring heavyweight guests like Post Malone and Florence + The Machine.
For her album Midnights, Swift announced its forthcoming release at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards and unveiled the tracklist via TikTok. The album kickstarted her Eras Tour, which hit Australia in early 2024.
