Kevin Parker has joined APRA AMCOS' The 1,000,000,000 List with 'The Less I Know The Better'
Kevin Parker has officially joined APRA AMCOS' The 1,000,000,000 List with hit Tame Impala song, The Less I Know The Better.
Given to APRA AMCOS songwriter members "in recognition of more than one billion streams for a song", Parker accepted the award in Sydney and spoke about how the 2015-released track - which also topped triple j's Hottest 100 Of The Decade - was originally intended for US producer Mark Ronson.
"During the recording session, I was working myself up to tell him I was going to take it back," Parker said.
"I owe APRA a lot, thank you everyone, this means a lot. Thanks for supporting me."
APRA AMCOS CEO Dean Ormston added, "Kevin is a highly acclaimed songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, performing and recording artist, and I’d add visionary.
"He has created a sound and a global following, and has the world’s best creatives queuing to work with him. It's a testament to Kevin’s work that his 2015 hit The Less I Know the Better has remained globally current.
