British metal band Sylosis will tour Australia in 2025, making their long-awaited return since performing at Soundwave festival in 2013. This will be their first-ever headline tour of Australia.

After a lengthy stint with fellow UK outfit Architects, Josh Middleton, the lead guitarist, vocalist, and founder of Sylosis, is back with his band full-time and let everyone know about it with their incredible 2023 album, A Sign Of Things To Come.

For the Australian tour, Sylosis will be joined by special guests AngelMaker, the deathcore band hailing from Canada. The tour begins at Perth’s Magnet House on Tuesday, 11 February, followed by dates at Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory (Wednesday, 12 February), Melbourne’s Max Watt’s (Friday, 14 February), Sydney’s Manning Bar (Saturday, 15 February), and wraps up The Triffid in Brisbane on Sunday, 16 February.

Especially keen fans can access pre-sale tickets at 9 am local time this Friday, 2 August, before the general sale opens at 9 am local time on Tuesday, 6 August. You can find tickets via The Phoenix.

On A Sign Of Things To Come, Middleton looked back to the artists and albums he loved growing up – Slipknot’s Iowa and “some of the really heavy Pantera stuff” to craft a 10-track, 43-minute album that’s as hooky as it is heavy,” the musician explained in an interview with The Music in September last year.

In the interview, Middleton told us that Sylosis were plotting an Australian tour—at the time, they were thinking of coming this year—and recalled the time he met Metallica’s James Hetfield at Soundwave.

“The first night of the tour, Metallica hosted a barbecue for all the bands,” he said. “I went to it but kept my distance; I didn’t want to bug them, so I was just like, ‘I'm just gonna keep a watchful eye’. I met James and took a picture with him at some point, but I didn’t want to embarrass myself. Like, what am I going to say? You’re my favourite band?”

On their long-awaited return to Australia, Middleton said, “We haven’t necessarily confirmed anything, but we’re 100% coming back. I’d like to think [that in] the first half of next year, we’ll be over. I think we’ve got a couple of options.”
