DMA'SMarrickville's Bad Friday block party is only a week away from its eighth annual event and, although its line-up is already pretty damn alluring, organisers have gone and raised the stakes with a special mystery group called… A Band.
No, for real; A Band, which doesn't even exist yet, will come together comprised of "friends, special guests and Inner West Faces" to pay tribute to seminal concert film The Last Waltz, putting on a recreation of "the legendary communal celebration of The Band's final show" for the faithful.
Not content to stop there, local institution Sounds Of Seduction — as headed by Jay Katz and Miss Death — will be making an appearance of sorts too, with the pair teaming up with DJs Madam De Silver and Kyle Rawhide Druery to bring the sweet beats in spades to next week's shindig.
With a wider line-up that features the likes of DMA's, The Jezabels, Royal Headache, Sampa The Great and more, Bad Friday — proudly presented by The Music — is the best way to spend your Good Friday if you're able.
The event will be held, per the name, on Friday 14 April on Railway Parade, Marrickville.
