"Incidents and issues have surfaced at times, and that creates additional pressures to meet the standards we expect of ourselves,"

Iconic Sydney nightclub Marquee will be closing its doors later this year 10 years after opening.

The venue is known for its high profile guests including the likes of Cardi B, Leonardo DiCaprio, Drake, Calvin Harris, Bruno Mars, Jamie Foxx, Paris Hilton, and many many more.

The new CEO of Star Sydney (the casino which the venue resides in), Scott Wharton, decided the venue was no longer required after an extensive review of the organisation.

"Incidents and issues have surfaced at times, and that creates additional pressures to meet the standards we expect of ourselves," he stated.

"We have a good, long-standing relationship with the owners of the Marquee brand. They are an excellent partner and we will discuss doing more with them in premium hospitality,

"In this instance, it's about looking at other food and beverage options that will further enhance The Star Sydney as a world-class tourism and entertainment destination.

The venue is expected to close later this year, with staff to be diverted to other areas of The Star.
