Sydney Hosts Australia's First-Ever Cafe Rave For Dogs
The inaugural 'Woof Doof' took place on Saturday morning. Bondi Junction's Doglateria teamed up with Spotify to host the event.

On Saturday (17 May), Spotify hosted the first-ever café rave for dogs at Doglateria in Bondi Junction, Sydney.
The inaugural Woof Doof took place on Saturday morning. DJ Adam Thomas brought the tunes while Doglateria dished out treats and merchandise for the furry members of our families.

The music was played at a range suitable for dogs – 55-60 decibels – as Thomas spun “scientifically proven” songs dogs can enjoy. Doglateria asked its followers to share their dogs’ favourite song in comments on Instagram so they could build the ultimate dog-friendly playlist that went from 9 am until 12 pm.
The event offered free entry, while the first 50 arrivals received the store’s new winter gelato and Spotify dog merchandise.
The gelato? Inspired by the acai bowl, the store offered something special for the first 50 dogs who walked through the door: a sweet treat packed with coconut cream, a Doglateria-made muesli bar, a peanut butter and honey topping, and carob powder sprinkles.
Oscar Vallejo, the Founder of Doglato, said of the adorable event, “We were delighted when Spotify approached us to bring the concept of a Woof Doof to life as a celebration of Gen Z’s love of dogs and reimagination of rave culture. We’re looking forward to the dogs trying our new winter flavour while listening to their favourite tunes, and can’t wait to see the paw traffic through our doors.”

The Woof Doof isn’t the only surprising event Spotify has been involved with this year.
Earlier this month, the streaming giant hosted a free Spacey Jane gig in Sydney as part of its Turn Up Aus initiative, which aims to push Australian music to the forefront. Only five double passes were offered to fans who entered a draw, making for an intimate, exclusive event.
