Ascendant bluesman Jesse Redwing has leveraged his growing renown into a deal with renowned indie label Create/Control, putting pen to paper on the signing as he prepares to unleash killer new single Round It Goes into the world.
Listening to the blistering new track, it's not hard to see why Create/Control would put its faith in Redwing's potential — he and backing band, the Real MVPs, have crafted a raw, infectious, driving and wholly impressive song that carries elements of the troubadour's musical development grounds of punk and rock but nonetheless sits more than capably next to any of his peers in the contemporary blues scene.
"I wasn't born to the blues," Redwing said in a statement. "But it found me somehow and now there's no turning back."
Round It Goes, produced by Stephen Mowat, is something of a teaser for what's still to come from Redwing and the Real MVPs this year, as the band prepare to release an as-yet-untitled studio full-length before the calendar flips over to 2017.
