SXSW Performances To Be Streamed Live On iTunes

Watch London Grammar, Coldplay show from anywhere

Apple's iTunes Store will stream live performances by London Grammar, Coldplay and Keith Urban from the massive South By Southwest conference and showcase festival in Austin, Texas.

Traditionally an event for young and emerging artists to put themselves in front of industry assembled from all over the world, SXSW is increasingly a platform for established artists to play in front of a global audience. The iTunes 'festival' – at the Moody Theatre in Austin – is a further example of that the commercial market benefits of the showcase juggernaut.

The performances – running from Wednesday 12 to Sunday 16 March – will be streamed live from the iTunes store interface and then made available for replay.

Although only one Australian artist (Keith Urban) is involved with the iTunes festival so far, it's going to be a big year for Australian representatives. Boy & Bear, Vance Joy, The Preatures, The Kite String Tangle, Gang Of Youths and heaps more have been invited to showcase. Chugg Entertainment will celebrate 50 years in the industry with a showcase party as well.

Needless to say, theMusic.com.au will be on the ground to soak it all up this year again.
