The seminal US trio will play three shows here in January.
Celebrated US stoner/doom luminaries Sleep have announced a three-date east-coast tour of Australia in January next year.
Following a pair of warm-ups in Wellington and Auckland, the band will touch down in Brisbane to play The Triffid on 18 January, before heading southward to Sydney and Melbourne to round out their run.
Sleep semi-recently won over audiences at 2014's Meredith Music Festival with their unforgettable live show and, although it's been almost 15 years since their last studio album — 2003's acclaimed fourth full-length Dopesmoker — have remained a vital force in their scene since reconvening in 2009 following a decade-long hiatus.
It's safe to expect that their upcoming local shows will be sonically massive affairs, and ones for which tickets are sure to evaporate quickly, like so much pot smoke into the ether.
