Is this a match made in heaven?

More Julia Stone More Julia Stone

The APRA Awards went down in Melbourne earlier this week, with some of Australia's top contemporary songwriters honoured at the ceremony for their outstanding work. In case you missed it, Angus & Julia Stone picked up the award for Blues & Roots Work Of The Year for their track Chateau.

While the pair couldn't attend the ceremony, they accepted the award via video message, expressing their gratitude and Julia commenting how lucky they feel to be able to make music. The award was then accepted by Damian Trotter, Managing Director of Sony/ATV Publishing, who may have let a huge collaboration out the bag.

Accepting the award on behalf of the duo, Trotter commented, "As you can see Angus and Julia couldn't be here tonight because Julia is back in New York putting the final touches to her new solo album, being produced by St Vincent, which I'm not sure if I'm supposed to mention in any case."

Well hot damn. St Vincent and Julia Stone. While nothing is officially confirmed, consider us intrigued. St Vincent, aka Annie Clark, is also currently producing classic '90s band Sleater-Kinney's new album, slated for release this year.

The Music also caught up with Julia ahead of her appearance at Bluesfest Byron Bay last month. Check out out feature below.

Back home, according to Trotter, Angus is also reportedly "wrapping up his next Dope Lemon album", so it seems like there is a tonne of new music from the Stone siblings coming our way this year.
