Spilt Milk Festival Announces Geelong As Its New Victorian Home

The Victorian leg of Spilt Milk festival has locked in a new home until at least 2030, organisers have confirmed, with the event set to take place in Geelong from this year onwards.

Having first launched in 2016, Spilt Milk began its life as a Canberra-exclusive event before it expanded outwards to the Gold Coast and Ballarat in Victoria in 2019, and Perth in 2023.

Over the years, it has brought the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Lorde, Flume, Childish Gambino, and more to its stages, and cemented itself as one of the country’s most vital festivals.

Since launching in Victoria in 2019, Spilt Milk has injected more than $46.7 million into the Victorian economy, with the 2025 event generating $17.2 million alone.

Now, the festival has announced that it will no longer be taking place in Ballarat’s Victoria Park for the foreseeable future, with combined support from both Visit Victoria and the City Of Greater Geelong confirming the festival's place in the region until 2030.

"Geelong is the perfect stage for the festival's next five years, and we want to thank Visit Victoria and the City of Greater Geelong for backing what Spilt Milk can do,” said Ryan Sabet, Director and Co-Founder of festival presenters Kicks Entertainment.

“Their support means we can keep proving that a world-class festival doesn't need a capital city and keep bringing tens of thousands of young people to regional Victoria every December."

“Bringing Spilt Milk to Geelong is a fantastic opportunity for our region, most importantly, for our young people,” added State Member for Geelong, Christine Couzens MP.

“These kinds of experiences give them the chance to connect with friends, create lasting memories, and enjoy world-class music close to home. I'm proud that Geelong is attracting these major events."

The forthcoming editions of Spilt Milk in Victoria will be taking place at Geelong’s Kardinia Park Stadium & Precinct, which CEO Gerard Griffin labels a “significant moment for the community of Geelong”.

Details for the 2026 line-up for Spilt Milk are expected to be released soon. A teaser from the festival, released last week, featured music from Irish electronic music producer and DJ KETTAMA, who was recently in Australia for the latest editions of Beyond The Valley and Wildlands festivals, plus supported Dom Dolla on his epic Sydney stadium show.

If KETTAMA appears on the line-up, there’s a chance that Spilt Milk is aiming for a more dance-oriented line-up compared to last year’s event, which leaned more towards a hip hop vibe.'
