Rebel With A Cause.
The newest bright sparks in town, Spark Cycles, are celebrating the final days of the crowd funding campaign for their ethical advertising and custom-built bike hire business this Sunday (28 Aug) at The Carrington.
Spark Cycles is the brainchild of founder Marcus Thyer. It allows people to rent retro-styled electric bikes that, as well as being an ethically and environmentally sound way to get around, are also travelling billboards with advertising space for brands.
Local business get the word out on the street, each bike can even be tracked via GPS so you can see where your message is headed, and if a rider posts a pic on their social media they get half of the cost of rental back, creating a mutually beneficial system that brings customers and producers together.
Spark Cycles have been aiming to raise 150,000 to open their first full Sydney City depot before rolling out across Australia. This Sunday marks The Spark Cycle Final Five, head down to win some cool stuff and see the new way to travel.
