Melbourne pup punks Sophisticated Dingo’s new track, Radio On, premiered on triple j’s Home & Hosed last night.
The ripper new single arrives with accompanying tour dates this April and May, with the duo comprising drummer Jimmy Medley and vocalist Lewis Matte headlining some dates and supporting The Terrys on others.
The band has returned from supporting TOWNS on a massive national tour with Radio On, a song about persistence. Medley and Matte’s newest single packs a punch from start to finish, screaming to be turned up to full blast and shouted/sung from the rooftops in true Sophisticated Dingo style.
“Radio On is about persisting with something that you fear might not lead anywhere. Days go by, routines remain the same, frustration builds, you are short with other people and jeopardise important relationships in your life, all the while pushing forward in pursuit of this passion,” Matte explained in a press release.
Matte continued, “You know this pursuit is harming your life but any small glimpse of breaking through is enough for you to keep at it. The pursuit of reaping success from the passion replaces any joy the passion itself elicits. Reclaiming joy from practising your passion, despite whatever success or lack of that may come from it, is victory.”

After wrapping up the Victorian leg of Bakers Eddy's tour dates, Sophisticated Dingo released Morning View, which received a first play on Triple J’s Home & Hosed before being added to full triple j rotation.
Finishing off 2022 with a massive tour supporting Dear Seattle’s national album tour followed by their own headline tour, Sophisticated Dingo hit the ground running with February's With You, landing international support from BBC1 and riling up the triple j and Unearthed tastemakers, who are eager for another big year from the pair.
