Sony Music Entertainment Australia has today announced four new appointments to the company.
Denis Handlin AO, Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Australia and New Zealand has shared the news today, with new hires to work across business development, social media and more.
Therese Ryan returns to Sony's Australian business following a stint as Senior Director, Artist Development, Asia in Hong Kong. She now takes on the role as Senior Director, Business Development, ANZ reporting to Handlin. Ryan started with Sony in 2009 as an A&R intern and worked her way up to the role of Director Of National Communications prior to her move to Hong Kong in March 2019.
Claire Marshall joins the business as Senior Director, Catalogue Streaming & Strategic Partnerships seeing her report to Sophie McArthur (VP, Partner Development & Streaming Strategy, ANZ). Marshall moves across from her role as Nova Entertainment's Music Marketing Director where she worked across live music brands Nova's Red Room and Smooth's Feel Good Night.
Ben Hock comes on board as Senior Manager, Social Media & Content, reporting to Sophie Paterson (Senior Director, Audience Development & Digital Communications, ANZ). Hock joins the business from IAG where he worked as Creative & Innovation Specialist. He had previously worked with We Are Social and Adhesive PR. He will work with the business' in-house audience development team across social media and content strategy.
Tom Gilmore takes on the role of Manager, Data & Analytics where he will be responsible for analysis of internal and third-party data sources to identify opportunities and insights, reporting to McArthur. He joins the business from his role as Digital Catalogue Campaign Manager with Universal Music Australia.
