The Smith Street Band's Chris Cowburn Auctioning Off Rainbow Drums In Support Of Marriage Equality

"I was proud that our country raised our collective voice in support of marriage equality!”

More The Smith Street Band The Smith Street Band

Yesterday was one of the happiest days Australia has had lately. We, as a nation, said yes.

It was also a big day for The Smith Street Band, who supported Midnight Oil at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, and so it was fitting that drummer Chris Cowburn used his colourful, one-of-a-kind custom drum kit ‘Rainbow Beat’ for the event.

Now he’s auctioning it off with 100% of proceeds to go to Minus18 to help them continue the fabulous work they do with Australian LGBTQI+ youth.

“Yesterday was surreal. As an Australian muso I was honoured to have the chance to support my heroes Midnight Oil and as an Australian citizen I was proud that our country raised our collective voice in support of marriage equality!” said Cowburn.

If you want to get in on this sweet rainbow drum action and support at good cause at the same time then swing over to the eBay page and have a punt. Bidding closes next Thursday, 23 November.
