Born in Sydney and now building a strong presence in the heartland of American country music, Lucie Tiger is getting ready to ensure 2026 is one of her biggest years yet with her latest album, Small Town Scandal.

Set for release on September 30th, Small Town Scandal was inspired by two years immersed in small-town life of the American South. The result is an album that combines honky-tonk swagger with elements of country rock and bluegrass. Meanwhile, the lyrical aspect of the album encompasses elements of humour, romance, danger, and darkness through its cinematic approach to songwriting.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the stories that take on a life all their own in a small town,” Tiger explains. “Something happens, somebody tells somebody else, and before long the story has travelled half way across town and picked up a few extra details along the way.

“That grey area between what actually happened and what people believe happened is incredibly rich territory for a songwriter.”

“I wasn’t interested in judging the characters or deciding who was right or wrong,” she adds. “I wanted to step inside their world, see what they saw, and let the songs tell the story.”

As an outsider – “a city girl dropped into a world where everybody seemed to know everybody else’s business” – a sense of fascination soon began to offer up a unique perspective into the twisting narratives, interconnected characters, and romantic entanglements that presented themselves to her on a daily basis.

“I was surrounded by stories and I couldn’t help turning them into songs,” Tiger explains.

Recorded in Muscle Shoals, the tracks predominantly feature Lucie Tiger on acoustic and electric guitar, Bob Wray on bass, Clayton Ivey on keys, Tommy Harden on drums, plus Scooter Muse on banjo, Lisa Silver on fiddle, Jordan Denton on slide guitar, and Matt DeOrazio and Randy O'Dell on electric guitar.

Tiger shared production duties with Charles Holloman, resulting in a 14-track collection of tracks, several of which charted in Australia and Nashville.

Harvest Moon won the Grand Prize at the 2026 Pensacola Songwriters Festival, was a Finalist at the 12th Annual Josie Independent Music Award Nominations and the 4th Annual Hollywood Independent Music Awards, plus featured on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart.

Like several of the album tracks, Tequila Talking charted well on the AMRAP, CDX Nashville True Indie Chart and the Music Row Country Breakout Chart plus it was a finalist in the 2026 Hollywood Independent Music Awards. Oh Preacher, meanwhile, is a standout on the album with its outlaw bluegrass country features including banjo, fiddle, and honky-tonk piano accents.

Nominated as an Artist To Watch by Music Connection in 2024, Lucie Tiger won Country Vocalist of the Year at the 2025 Josie Music Awards at the Opry Nashville and her single Hummingbird won Country Song of the Year at the 16th Annual InterContinental Music Awards in 2026.

Lucie Tiger’s Small Town Scandal is released September 30th.
