Slowly Slowly are on their way to their highest ever debut on this week's ARIA Albums chart with their latest LP Race Car Blues

According to midweek figures, the Melbourne band will battle it out for the week's highest debut alongside Las Vegas heavy metal outfit Five Finger Death Punch, who are also expected to debut in the top three.

While Slowly Slowly should comfortably beat their ARIA chart record (previous album St Leonards debuted at #77 in 2018), they will have to topple South Korean boy band BTS for any chance of a #1 debut. BTS took out the top spot last week with their latest album, Map Of The Soul: 7.

Race Car Blues earned The Music's Album Of The Week spot on its release, with reviewer Emily Blackburn saying the band have "have held nothing back [both] musically and emotionally".

Elsewhere, James Taylor's American Standard is expected to land in the top 15 and Lil Baby's My Turn should debut in the top 20. Northeast Party House and Caribou will look for top 40 debuts with their respective albums.
