Slowdive Announce 2025 Australian Tour

English shoegaze pioneers Slowdive will return to Australia this May after a sold-out tour of the country in 2023.

Set to be joined by New York outfit Beach Fossils, the tour begins at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Wednesday, 30 April, before heading to Melbourne’s Festival Hall on Saturday, 3 May, Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Sunday, 4 May, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Tuesday, 6 May, and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Thursday, 8 May.

Pre-sale tickets will be available from Wednesday, 12 February, at 9 am local time (register here for access) ahead of the general sale that goes live at 9 am local time on Friday, 14 February. You can find more ticketing information on the Destroy All Lines website.

For the tour, Slowdive will be digging into their beloved catalogue, playing tracks from early albums such as Souvlaki and 2023’s everything is alive.

Since forming in Reading in 1989 by childhood friends Neil Halstead (vocals, guitar) and Rachel Goswell (vocals), the band went on to welcome Christian Savill (guitar), Nick Chaplin (bass) and Simon Scott (drums) and signed to Creation Records in 1990, joining the likes of My Bloody Valentine on the label.

In 2017, Slowdive reunited after a 22-year hiatus with the release of their self-titled album.

Reviewing their show at Melbourne’s Forum in 2023, The Music’s Andy Hazel commented that the band delivered “victory lap after victory lap.” Hazel added: “After long and passionate calls from the crowd, Slowdive return to the stage to play faultless versions of Dagger and 40 Days before leaving for one last time, letting their guitars feedback and echo together in sublime harmonies.”
