Three weeks after Knotfest Australia organisers announced the set times for this year’s festival, the schedule has been updated. Headliners Slipknot will now perform an even longer set.
Slipknot, celebrating their 25th anniversary and recently playing their 1999 self-titled album in its entirety, were set to perform for 80 minutes at the third edition of Knotfest Australia. Last night (26 February), festival organisers pleasantly surprised punters by letting them know that Slipknot’s set has been extended to an hour and 35 minutes.
They’ll also hit the stage earlier, starting their set at 8:20 pm and ending at 9:55 pm in all cities. While the extension of Slipknot’s set means that other sets have been reduced by five minutes throughout the day, it’s still going to be a massive day of metal.
Knotfest will begin its three-date run at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse tomorrow (28 February), before heading to Brisbane’s Showgrounds Sunday (2 March) and Sydney’s Centennial Park on Saturday, 8 March. Final tickets for each date are available on the Knotfest Australia website.
Knotfest is known for its clash-free set-up, with just two stages situated side-by-side so fans don’t have to run around and miss out on any bands they want to see. This year, in addition to the headliners, the festival has locked in bands, including A Day To Remember, BABYMETAL, Slaughter To Prevail, Within Temptation, Hatebreed (celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Perseverance), Aussie heavyweights Polaris and In Hearts Wake, and more.
