Melbourne/Naarm post-punk outfit sleepazoid have returned with their first new single of the year, previewing their upcoming debut EP with ALICE.

Described by the band as “a sexy, gritty ballad of sapphic longing and desire”, ALICE is equal parts catchy pop and dirty alternative rock, pairing the slick vocals of Nette France with immersive instrumentation that draws the listener in with its heavy riffs, stacked vocal layering, and imaginative storytelling.

The track is also accompanied by an Oscar O'Shea-directed video clip which sees the band under grey Melbourne skies, paired with clips of them performing the single in an industrial setting.

Self-produced by the band, ALICE comes following a successful debut for sleepazoid, with the group emerging onto the scene with RWTD back in October, and following it up with the exceptional RATS the very next month.

All of these tracks are set to be featured on sleepazoid’s upcoming debut EP, running with the dogs, which is scheduled for a March 6th release via Surreal Sound.

The arrival of their EP will also coincide with a launch tour, which kicks off in Newcastle on March 28th, and runs through Sydney, Wollongong, Adelaide, Brisbane, and wraps up with a hometown gig on April 17th.

Already, their reputation as a live band has managed to spread, with debut headiline shows from the band in Melbourne and Sydney seeing them perform to packed crowds and rave reviews.
