Slaves (suddenly) announce final shows

Following the departure of guitarist Alex Lyman last week, Slaves have announced that their next two US shows will be their last ever. This is the definition of sudden.

Following the departure of guitarist Alex Lyman last week, Slaves have announced their next two US shows will also be their last ever. This is the definition of sudden.

The band provided a very short statement, yet with no explanation behind the decision when writing:

Tonight in Sacramento and tomorrow in Santa Cruz are the last Slaves shows EVER. Come send the band off with us.

However, there is some speculation that as Lyman was one of the band's main songwriters, and the band has suffered some public and messy issues with their label, Artery Recordings, a few months previous, this was simply the straw that broke the camel's back. Couple that with the band being kicked off Vans Warped Tour last year and honestly, the writing may have been on the wall for a while.

Oh well, onto the next project that Johnny Craig decides to start up!
