Billie Eilish is heading to Springfield.
For some musicians, headlining Coachella is the pinnacle of success; for others, it’s being immortalised as a guest star on The Simpsons. And Billie Eilish can now cross both off the list.
After headlining the Californian festival this past weekend to rave reviews, the singer-songwriter was confirmed for The Simpsons’ next Disney+ short, When Billie Met Lisa.
The short's official synopsis reads: "In When Billie Met Lisa, Lisa Simpson is discovered by chart-topping artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS while searching for a quiet place to practice her saxophone. Billie invites Lisa to her studio for a special jam session she’ll never forget."
The April 22 release is the fourth in a collection of shorts created exclusively for the streamer, following on from last year’s The Simpsons In Plusaversary, which featured a who’s who of iconic cartoon guest stars, including a nod to Australia’s very own Bluey.
The two other shorts in the series include the Star Wars and Marvel-themed shorts Maggie Simpson In The Force Awakens From Its Nap and The Good, The Bart, And The Loki.
Billie Eilish is scheduled to tour Australia this September.
