Sheldon Riley Set To Represent Australia At Eurovision 2022
Riley received 100 votes, three more than Voyager in second place.
Over the weekend, SBS hosted Eurovision: Australia Decides and crowned Sheldon Riley as Australia's representative for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, set to be hosted in Italy on the 10th until the 14th of May.
Riley received 100 votes for the performance of power ballad Not The Same, three more than Perth based prog-metal band Voyager in second place.
Brisbane adored pop performer and vocal activist Jaguar Jonze came in third with 91 votes.
Riley gained notoriety after finishing third in the seventh season of The Voice in 2018, and making the quarter-finals of America's Got Talent in 2020.
He follows on a list of highly esteemed Australian performers that have represented the country, including Guy Sebastian, Isaiah Firebrace, Montaigne, Dami Im, Jessica Mauboy and more.
