The UK/US post-punks will make their maiden Australian trip this August
Transatlantic post-punk outfit Self Defense Family have been hammering away at their craft together for more than a decade, but they've never been to Australia — which makes the news that they're planning on changing that this August and September with a batch of headline shows Down Under all the sweeter.
Getting under way at The Brightside, in Brisbane, on 27 August (with an all-ages showing at Caxton House the following day), the band will take their maiden Aussie performance to stages in Sydney (Red Rattler, 29 August, AA), Newcastle (Hombre Records, 30 August, AA), Wollongong (Rad, 1 September, AA), Canberra (Lacklustre HQ, 2 September, AA), Adelaide (Crown & Anchor, 4 September) and Melbourne (Poison City Weekender @ Corner Hotel, 5 September, sold out; Viva Hate, 7 September, AA).
The band's first Aussie tour comes hot on the heels of their forthcoming studio full-length Heaven Is Earth, which hits stores via Deathwish in just a couple of weeks' time, on Friday, 30 June.
Tickets for Self Defense Family's 2015 Australian tour are available now through a multitude of outlets; see theGuide or check The Music App for more information.
