Bribie Island’s Sandstone Point Hotel will celebrate its tenth birthday with a massive day of live music this July.

The tenth birthday bash, entitled Party On The Point, will feature performances from Australian rock and roll royalty, including Hoodoo Gurus, James Reyne, The Angels, Chocolate Starfish, Mi Sex, Spy V Spy, The Chantoozies, and Matt Finish. The big day will take place on Saturday, 26 July.

Pre-sale tickets will be available via Ticketmaster, Oztix, and Sandstone Point Hotel subscribers. The pre-sale begins at 9 am on Tuesday, 25 March – register your interest here. Since the venue opened its doors ten years ago, the Sandstone Point Hotel has been home to more than 700,000 music fans, hosting performances by the likes of The Beach Boys, Bryan Adams, John Farnham, Smashing Pumpkins, Gang Of Youths, Icehouse, Jimmy Barnes, The Corrs, Hunters & Collectors, and many more.

The venue offers 300 metres of unobstructed water views on the shores of the Pumicestone Channel. It also houses a restaurant, bars, function spaces, a playground, and more.

On the event’s tenth anniversary, hotel owner Rob Comiskey said, “It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since we first opened the doors to Sandstone Point Hotel! Over the past decade, some of our greatest achievements have been in the live music space, including being named Australia’s Best Entertainment Venue. So, what better way to celebrate our 10th birthday than with a concert?”

Recalling his nerves around the venue’s first show, Comiskey continued, “I still remember the nerves surrounding our very first gig—but we didn’t start small. We kicked things off with The Beach Boys and never looked back. Now, hosting events is second nature; our team runs like a well-oiled machine, and while it may feel like just another workday, it’s always a little more fun!”

Comiskey added, “Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming thousands of guests for unforgettable performances by some of the biggest names in music—John Farnham, Simple Minds, Dom Dolla, +Live+, Gang of Youths, and so many more. So, of course, we had to go big for our 10th birthday, and who better than the Hoodoo Gurus to bring the party?
