Sam Simmons Scores Best Show At Edinburgh Comedy Awards

"Such an onslaught of happiness and kind things. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!"

On his quest to take over the world, Sam Simmons has scored Best Comedy Show at the 2015 Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

The Edinburgh Comedy Festival’s top prize was awarded to Simmons’ Spaghetti For Breakfast, which also took out the prestigious Barry Award at this year’s Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Seven other comics fought for the main prize, including fellow Aussie Sarah Kendall and New Zealand’s Trygve Wakenshaw.

Last year, Simmons’ Death Of A Sails – Man was also nominated for the prize, but beat by John Kearns.

Aussie comedian and former triple j breakfast presenter Tom Ballard was in the running for Best Newcomer at the event, which was awarded to Sofie Hagen, and the Panel Prize went home with Karen Koren.
