'Painkiller' like you've never heard it before.
Sydney singer-songwriter Ruel has given one of his biggest singles, Painkiller, a serious makeover, today dropping a new version featuring hip hop maestro Denzel Curry.
The reworked cut of Painkiller, a song which originally featured on the local artist’s 2019 EP Free Time, is part of a remix pack, which will include versions by Mr Carmack, Taka Perry and Young Franco, set to drop on June 5.
Earlier this year, Ruel appeared on The Green Room podcast backstage at Laneway Festival in Brisbane and told host Neil Griffiths he was aiming to release his debut album this year.
Unfortunately, those plans might be delayed due to the COVID pandemic, with the Sydney artist intending to write the record in Bali and LA with veteran Aussie producer M-Phazes, who worked on Free Time and 2018's Ready.
Denzel Curry’s Like A Version cover of Bulls On Parade landed at #5 on this year’s Hottest 100, ahead of Painkiller at #22.
