Robyn Hitchcock & Steve Kilbey Announce Tour Of Australia

12 March 2014 | 6:33 pm | Staff Writer

Two new friends hit the road together.

More Robyn Hitchcock More Robyn Hitchcock

Robyn Hitchcock of The Soft Boys and Steve Kilbey of The Church are two great songwriters who came in to great success in the 1980s, but continue to create and dazzle their vast array of dedicated fans. They were both born in the UK and both have rather similar musical influences, so it kinda makes sense that they would team up to play some shows together.

You might assume that the two artists are mates, having worked in similar circles for years, but the truth is they do not even know each other. They're both fiercely dedicated to the art they create, though, and are both hugely prolific songwriters, so you can be certain that there will be a wild and wonderfully diverse range of tunes when these two artists head around the country together.

Sydney and Melbourne audiences will be treated to a third songwriting legend as The Reels' Dave Mason joins in on those dates.

All the dates are below in theGuide and tickets are on sale from Monday 17 March.
