Young Henrys have announced the inaugural Rip In Weekender - a three-day skate and music festival at the Hotel Steyne in Manly, New South Wales, from Friday, 11 November to Sunday, 13 November with DJ sets from Australia's most adored live acts
The passionate group of brewers, Young Henrys, bring their love of music and support of grassroots communities through significant festivals and cultural institutions to Manly. Rip In Weekender will also feature the Thanks Tattoo And Whistler Street pop-up parlour, an Ain't That Swell podcast live stream, the Noa Deane film premiere, DJ performances, and skate sessions from Rob Pace and the Volcom Skate Team.
Punk band SCABZ are opening proceedings on the Friday, with Sydney crocodile rock band Crocodylus DJing after. Headlining the night is DMA'S.
The unpredictable nature of the festival will continue on Saturday, with DJ sets from The Regime and Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, who are on an upward trajectory since their debut EP, Pretty Good For A Girl Band, was released in May this year Gerringong band Pacific Avenue promise extra energy and confidence after their July support slot with Louis Tomlinson. Ruby Fields will close the evening.
Young Henrys teamed up with Foo Fighters in 2018 to produce a limited edition beer called FooTown Lager, in unison with the band's Concrete And Gold album and tour. Dune Rats celebrated their second album, The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit, topping the ARIA Charts in 2017 by collaborating with Young Henrys to release a limited edition Dunies Lager. The brewers also commemorated You Am I's 20th anniversary in 2013 - they unveiled the limited-release beer, Brew Am I, which used ingredients from all the band members' hometowns in WA, Victoria, and New Zealand.
