The former pop star has confirmed his involvement in the cult-hit crime drama
Expatriate Australian singer-songwriter Rick Springfield has revealed that he will feature in the forthcoming, eagerly awaited second season of HBO's wildly popular mystery-crime-drama series True Detective.
Taking to Twitter yesterday, the Jessie's Girl scribe revealed he had just finished his first day on-set for the show alongside actors Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams.

There are no details to speak of yet as to Springfield's role in the series, which also stars Vince Vaughn, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly, but hardcore fans shouldn't be sweating too hard — Springfield actually has some fairly well established acting chops, having spent several years as Dr Noah Drake on General Hospital, as well as filling roles on Californication, the original Battlestar Galactica, and seminal detective series The Rockford Files.

Season two of True Detective is filming in California; airing details are but a notion at this stage, but you can almost guarantee that Springfield will, if nothing else, be funny and cool with the lines. Ain't that the way love's supposed to be?
