Don't fuck with Brazilian soccer fans, dude.
At a drum clinic in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte last week, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith caused a major stir when presented with a jersey of Rio de Janeiro based football club Clube de Regatas do Flamengo.
Smith held the jersey up to a mixture of cheers and jeers from the assembled audience, before sticking the shirt down his pants and simulating wiping his backside with the jersey.

Flamengo's fanbase is estimated at around 30 million people, and funnily enough they were none too keen on the display from the rocker, with the drummer admonished for his disrespectful actions.
A look at the band's Facebook shows plenty of ill-feeling towards Smith, here are just a few of the myriad comments the band attracted in the past couple of days.
“CHAD SMITH you are a moron, use FLAMENGO shirt to wipe your ass?? I hate you, and 40 million Brazilians. NEVER STEP IN BRAZIL mother fucker!! Red Hot Chili Peppers lost 40 million fans,” one angry supporter wrote.
“You played with the largest fan club in the world, Flamengo is a world heritage, has to apologize to his knees in Rio cuz you is not nothing compared to Flamengo...,” wrote another.
“CHAD SMITH, RESPECT THE FANS OF FLAMENGO, RESPECT THE FLAMENGO T-SHIRT!!! RIO DE JANEIRO HATE YOU, CHAD!!!
“CHAD PUT THE FLAMENGO T-SHIRT IN THE ASS.... WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT RESPECT??
“FLAMENGO PRA SEMPRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,” another fan exclaimed.
Smith issued an apology to the club and its fans, but unfortunately, he misspelled the name of the team in the process…
I want to apologize for my inappropriate antics at the drum clinic,my joke about team rivalries went too far. Flamenco fans...I'm sorry.

Smith then went to meet with players from the club and presented them with Red Hot Chili Peppers shirts, while wearing the Flamengo home strip.
