Featuring Kingfisha, Transvaal Diamond Syndicate, Band Of Frequencies, Leanne Tennant, Pink Matter, Shag Rock and more.
Brisbane BYO festival and weekend sleepover Red Deer Music & Arts Festival has put the finishing touches on its 2017 line-up, unveiling the full crop of acts set to join previously announced headliners The Preatures and The Kite String Tangle at Mt Samson this October.
In keeping with the festival's ethos and this year's 'Space Oddity' theme, organisers have been sure to include a li'l something for everyone among the mighty spread.
Attendees in 2017 will be able to groove along to the sounds of dub heroes Kingfisha, the surf-blues strains of Band Of Frequencies, stalwart alt-rockers Shag Rock, acclaimed Qld country songstress Leanne Tennant, the blues power of Transvaal Diamond Syndicate, the stylish neo-soul/pop of Pink Matter, hard-hitting alt-groovers Mayhem For Mary, dance duo Mezko and many more.
“We always strive to curate a line-up that’s musically diverse, featuring artists of national acclaim as well as shining a light on both local and interstate emerging talent," festival co-founder Bas Pelly said in a statement.

"This year’s festival-goers, or 'astronauts' if you will, can look forward to beautiful ballads, energetic roots, and rollicking tunes, before The Kite String Tangle and The Preatures bring the house down with two very different, entertaining sets."
This year is particularly special as it marks the event's expansion to include a third stage of live music, focused on giving a leg up to regional emerging artists.
Says Pelly: "We're pumped that we can finally provide a third stage area as it allows us to get even more awesome local bands and a greater variety of artists involved.
"We encourage performers and artists of all types to apply to be a part of this new, eclectic program."
Interested artists — as well as aspirant volunteers, vendors and workshop hosts — can head to the festival's website to fill out an application form.
Red Deer goes beyond the merely musical in creating its distinctly DIY atmosphere, with entertainment on offer including belly-dancing, meditation and hula hoop workshops, the 'Fashion Of The Fields' dance-off contest and the always madcap Red Deer sack race.
