Queens Of The Stone Age ProfileQueens of the Stone Age are releasing their new album, Perfecth, next Friday (30 October), and they’ve announced they’ll celebrate it the following day with spooky-themed listening parties.
HalloQueen retail events will take place in record stores worldwide next Saturday, including Australia. Costumes are encouraged as you listen to the new album, grab exclusive goodies, and find a limited-edition Perfecth picture disc at participating retailers.
Record stores in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Geelong, Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Mornington, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney, and Tweed Heads are participating. The full list is available here.
The band continues to promote Perfecth with the singles Easy Street, Insignificant Other, and the recently released Where the Goth Girls At?, which they premiered on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week.
When they announced the album in August, frontman Josh Homme explained the title in a statement. “Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth’,” he said. “And that title is funny when you’re in a group, but it ain’t so funny when you’re alone.”
You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.
Queens of the Stone Age are supporting their new album with a run of tour dates, with the Australian shows taking place in December.
Starting Tuesday, 8 December, the band will take over venues such as The Drive in Adelaide, Mystate Bank Arena in Hobart, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Newcastle Entertainment Centre, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, and Spark Arena in Auckland.
Tickets are now on sale via the Live Nation Australia website. Primus and Tropical Fuck Storm are billed as special guests for the Australian run.
In a recent interview with The Music, Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen said of their return to Australia, “I’ve always loved coming to Australia and New Zealand. There’s two main reasons. First of all, our fans there are incredible, and you know that they’ve missed us every time we come back. It just feels like another home.
“And there’s nothing like that, especially after a 14-hour plane ride. To have that kind of welcome is always like… it just makes your life better.”
