The show will be loosely based on the rapper's early career
Rapper Q-Tip is teaming up with two of Hollywood's big names to develop a TV series loosely based on his life.
The former A Tribe Called Quest member has enlisted the help actors Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio to develop the show, which according to Deadline (via Pitchfork) will be inspired by the early years of Q-Tip's career when he was a part of the Native Tongues hip hop collective.
The series is set to be produced through DiCaprio's production company Appian Way.
Q-Tip - real name Kamaal Ibn John Fareed - is considered one of hip hop's most important and best lyricists, for his work in A Tribe Called Quest and his solo efforts. He is up for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance at this year's awards for his collaboration with Melbourne soul ensemble Hiatus Kaiyote, for their song Nakamarra.
